The [Los Angeles] Lakers have interviewed former [Washington] Wizards coach Scott Brooks for a potential spot on Frank Vogel's staff, league sources say.

ANALYSIS: Brooks and the Wizards parted ways this offseason after they were unable to agree on a new deal. Washington finished the season with a 34-38 record and went down to the Philadelphia 76ers in five games in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Brooks, a respected coach around the league, was expected to be a candidate for the number of different open head coaching positions this offseason. A year with the Lakers, however, may allow him to pursue a more suitable position down the road. Los Angeles, meanwhile, is looking to add wherever they can to get back to the NBA Finals next season.
