Heat beat Bucks at buzzer, take 2-0 lead

On Wednesday, the Miami Heat defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, 116-114, taking a 2-0 lead in the series.

Game 2 ended with a controversial call that sent Jimmy Butler to the free-throw line with 0.0 left on the clock. With the game tied at 114, Butler attempted a game-winning jumper and the refs said that he was fouled by Giannis Antetokounmpo as time expired.

This sent Butler to the free-throw line, where he only had to make one of two free throws to seal the win (and he made both). Was there enough contact to warrant the foul call? Decide for yourself:

After the game, Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer expressed his frustration with the call.

"I'd say we're disappointed with the judgment, the decision, the timing," Budenholzer said, according to ESPN. “In the judgment of the officials, the foul occurred, I guess, at some point when he landed.”

For Miami, Goran Dragic had a team-high 23 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 threes and 2 steals. Butler was relatively quiet on offense, finishing with 13 points on 3-8 shooting from the field and 0-2 shooting from three - but he put points on the board when they mattered most. Tyler Herro chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 threes off the bench.

Antetokounmpo finished with 29 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block. Khris Middleton contributed 23 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds for Milwaukee. Eric Bledsoe returned after missing Game 1 with a strained hamstring and he had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists on 6-14 shooting from the field.

Prior to this series, BasketballNews.com’s Nekias Duncan wrote about how Miami matches up really well with Milwaukee given their personnel and style of play. He predicted that the Heat would upset the Bucks and broke down exactly how they could do it.

Now, Miami is up 2-0 and - controversial ending or not - Milwaukee may be in trouble. The Bucks will try to bounce back and get their first win of the series in Game 3 on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
