After a 121-114 loss to the shorthanded Toronto Raptors, the Los Angeles Lakers have lost the sixth game in their last seven, falling to the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference.

Anthony Davis was forthright following the defending champion's defeat to a team that's fighting for its playoff lives in the Eastern Conference.

“This is the lowest we’ve been in a while, at least in the past two years," Davis said. “But the only way is up and we really can’t get any lower than this, so we've just got to set a course, stay together.” 

Davis and LeBron James were out for a significant amount of time as the brigade of Dennis Schroder, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and Andre Drummond did their best to keep Los Angeles in good positioning out West.

With LeBron possibly reaggravating the same right ankle that held him out of action for over a month, it seems the Lakers have a lot of mental and physical ground to make up before the postseason begins. Whether that's in the playoffs or beginning in the play-in tournament (of which LeBron is not a fan of) remains to be seen.
