According to data released by the NBA, Game 1 of this year's NBA Finals saw a 13 percent increase in viewership when compared to 2020 numbers.

Viewership for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on ABC is up 13 percent from last year.

Perhaps the most eye-popping stat is the 71 percent increase from 2019 in video views on NBA social media platforms. The league amassed over 55 million media views on its pages during Game 1. 

Both the Milwaukee (23.7) and Phoenix (23.9) markets saw some of the its highest ratings since that start of the 21st century.
