This would make financial sense for Beal, as he is eligible for a five-year, $246 million deal with Washington if he declines his player option for 2022-2021, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Before undergoing season-ending surgery on his left wrist, Beal was averaging 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in 40 games this season.
