The next NBA season, Adam Silver says tonight, would start on Christmas at the earliest but "more likely January"

ANALYSIS: The 2019-20 season is set to end soon with the Finals now under way. Silver seems pretty confident that the 2020-21 season will start in January now, which means there will be at least a two and a half month offseason break.

This start date is subject to change at any time though depending on how things progress with COVID in the U.S.
