ANALYSIS: With Klay Thompson set to miss his second consecutive season due to injury, the Warriors will look for some help from the league and have formally applied for the Disabled Player Exception. After taking on the contract of Kelly Oubre Jr. in a trade with OKC, the Warriors are heavily in the luxury tax and can use any help they can get from the NBA.

In addition to being in the tax, the Warriors are home to one of the most expensive stadiums in basketball and with the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, there’s no telling when Golden State will be able to house fans again and start bringing in revenue from ticket sales.
