Sacramento Kings big man Domantas Sabonis and New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson have been named the NBA's Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 13 of the 2022-23 season (Jan. 9-15), the league announced today.
Last week, Sabonis averaged 18.5 points, 14.3 rebounds and 10.3 assists while leading Sacramento to a 4-0 record. The Kings are now 24-18, which is the fourth-best record in the Western Conference.
Brunson also had a terrific week, averaging 34.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists while leading New York to a 3-1 week. The Knicks are currently 25-19, which is the sixth-best record in the Eastern Conference.
The other nominees from the West were Harrison Barnes (SAC), Josh Giddey (OKC), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC), Nikola Jokić (DEN), Damian Lillard (POR) and Ja Morant (MEM).
The other nominees from the East were Joel Embiid (PHI), James Harden (PHI), Julius Randle (NYK), Jayson Tatum (BOS) and Gabe Vincent (MIA).
