Orlando Magic unveil team rebrand ahead of 2025–26 NBA season

The Orlando Magic have announced a significant rebranding initiative set to debut in the 2025–26 NBA season. This comprehensive overhaul includes updated logos, refreshed uniforms, and new marketing campaigns, all designed to honor the franchise's storied past while embracing a modern identity.

Central to the rebrand is the revival of the iconic "streaking ball with stars" logo, a nod to the team's original emblem from 1989 to 2000. The updated design modernizes this classic symbol, aiming to resonate with both longtime fans and new audiences. Complementing the logo is a revamped uniform set that reintroduces the beloved pinstripe motif from the 1989–1998 era. Notably, the silver star replaces the "A" in the "Magic" wordmark, reinforcing the team's connection to its heritage.

The uniform lineup features:

  • Icon Uniform: A return to the classic blue base, reminiscent of the team's early years.
  • Statement Uniform: A black design paying homage to the road warmup gear worn between 1991 and 1997.
  • City Edition Uniform: Introduced for the 2024–25 season, this platinum-colored jersey features a background pattern evoking a suit of armor, symbolizing strength and resilience. The gothic-style "Magic" script and retro star in the wordmark further tie the design to the team's roots.

In tandem with the visual rebrand, the Magic have launched the "Make It Magic" marketing campaign. This initiative emphasizes the collective effort of players, staff, and fans in creating memorable experiences both on and off the court. The campaign aims to foster a deeper connection with the community and reinforce the organization's commitment to excellence.

Additionally, recognizing the importance of their diverse fan base, the Magic have introduced the "¡Dale Magic!" campaign to engage and celebrate their Hispanic supporters. This culturally relevant initiative underscores the team's dedication to inclusivity and community engagement.

The Orlando Magic's rebranding efforts signify a strategic move to blend tradition with innovation. By honoring their rich history while embracing contemporary design and inclusive marketing, the Magic aim to usher in a new era of identity and connection as they approach the 2025–26 season.
