In an absolute stunner to kick off NBA trade deadline day, the Phoenix Suns have reportedly acquired Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four unprotected first-round picks (2023, 2025, 2027, 2029) and a 2028 pick swap. TJ Warren is also heading back to the Suns with Durant.

The news was initially reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and the framework by The Athletic's Shams Charania.

It has been a whirlwind first 48 hours of Suns new owner Mat Ishbia taking charge, and he has absolutely made a splash in his debut with general manager James Jones helping pull this off. Phoenix had been deeply interested in Durant over the summer, but failed to meet the Nets' demands in return.

With Kyrie Irving traded to Dallas earlier this week, Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks and owner Joe Tsai have pivoted to retooling their franchise, leading to the Suns pouncing on the 13-time All-Star forward's availability.

Durant is lighting up the scoreboard once again this season, averaging 29.7 points on a sizzling 55.9% from the field, including career-best clips from 3-to-10 feet (60.8%) and 10-to-16 feet (60.3%). He should fit in like a glove next to a prolific scorer in Devin Booker and a dynamite table-setter in Chris Paul.
