Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown has netted a new 3-year deal with the team that will take him through the 2026-2027 season, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Brown, 54, led Sacramento to the playoffs for the first time in 16 years two years ago and won 46 games and a Play-In game this season. He now gets a $4.5 million raise annually and an additional two seasons of $8.5 million per year.
The 2022-2023 NBA Coach of the Year and the Kings were determined to discuss a new deal after the franchise’s recent success over the past two years. After ending a 16-year playoff drought, the Kings took then-defending champions Golden State Warriors to 7 games before eventually losing.
The Kings are looking to build off those two winning seasons to improve the team even more and contend with Brown at the helm. They are currently bannered by all-stars De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis with young talents like Keegan Murray also in the fold.
After Brown, Sacramento will also have another big decision to make this offseason as 6th man of the year finalist Malik Monk enters free agency.
