Kevin Durant became the 8th player in NBA history to score 31,000 points or more on Friday, making history in doing so.
The 37-year-old Rockets superstar tied his close friend and close rival LeBron James for the 3rd-fastest ever in NBA history to achieve the feat with 1,141 games played. Only Wilt Chamberlain (1,015 games) and Michael Jordan (1,011 games) achieved it faster.
Durant made the historic accomplishment with a right-wing jumper in the first-quarter of their game vs the Phoenix Suns.
Durant currently sits at 8th in the NBA’s all-time scoring list, with Wilt Chamberlain (31,419 points) and Dirk Nowitzki (31,560 points) next in line for Durant to surpass.
