J.R. Smith is cleared by the NCAA to play golf for North Carolina A&T. 

“It was probably one of the most exciting feelings I've had in a while. I really didn't know how it was going to go. ... but to be able to actually call myself a student-athlete is a great feeling," Smith said.

ANALYSIS: Smith is 35 years old and has not played in the NBA since 2019-20, but this could be an impressive athletic transition for the Aggies walk-on, should he make the team. Per Kyle Boone of CBS Sports, Smith is enrolling to earn a degree in liberal studies, and is also a 5 handicap.
