These teams are reportedly Durant’s preferred landing spots, with mutual interest and the potential for a lucrative extension in play. Sources close to the situation revealed to Charania that Heat, Spurs, and Rockets have all gained significant traction in negotiations and are considered finalists in the pursuit of the 15-time All-Star.

ANALYSIS: Durant lists Miami as a desirable destination, citing the franchise's culture and strong front office support. The Heat reportedly attempted to acquire him at the trade deadline. While they may lack in draft assets, veteran players like Andrew Wiggins, Kel’el Ware, and Duncan Robinson could be key parts of a package.

San Antonio presents an alluring mix: pairing Durant with phenom Victor Wembanyama and rising star De’Aaron Fox. With significant draft capital – including the Nos. 2 and 14 picks – the Spurs are well-positioned to make a big move.
