NBA unveils 2024–25 All-Rookie Teams

The NBA has officially announced the 2024–25 All-Rookie First and Second Teams, highlighting a season rich with emerging talent and international flair. Headlining the list is San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle, who was unanimously selected to the First Team following his Rookie of the Year campaign. All-Rookie First Team

  • Stephon Castle (San Antonio Spurs) – The No. 4 overall pick from UConn, Castle averaged 14.7 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.7 rebounds over 81 games, earning unanimous First Team honors.
  • Zaccharie Risacher (Atlanta Hawks) – The top overall pick in the 2024 draft, Risacher delivered multiple 30+ point performances, including a season-high 38 points, and received 99 of 100 First Team votes.
  • Jaylen Wells (Memphis Grizzlies) – A second-round steal at pick No. 39, Wells averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, becoming the only second-rounder on the First Team.
  • Zach Edey (Memphis Grizzlies) – The 7'4" center provided a strong interior presence, contributing to Memphis becoming the first team since 2019–20 to have two All-Rookie First Team selections.
  • Alex Sarr (Washington Wizards) – The French big man averaged 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, becoming the first Wizard since 2012–13 to make the First Team.

All-Rookie Second Team

  • Matas Buzelis (Chicago Bulls) – The versatile forward from G League Ignite made an immediate impact with his scoring and defensive versatility .
  • Bub Carrington (Washington Wizards) – Acquired via trade, Carrington played all 82 games, averaging 9.8 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.2 rebounds, and hit a game-winning shot to cap his season.
  • Donovan Clingan (Portland Trail Blazers) – The former UConn center averaged 6.5 points and 7.9 rebounds, anchoring Portland’s defense in the paint.
  • Kel’el Ware (Miami Heat) – Ware’s athleticism and rim protection earned him a key role in Miami’s rotation.
  • Yves Missi (New Orleans Pelicans) – The Cameroonian forward provided energy and rebounding off the bench, solidifying his spot among the league’s top rookies .

This year's All-Rookie selections underscore the NBA's growing international presence, with players from France and Cameroon making significant impacts. The Memphis Grizzlies and Washington Wizards each had two players honored, reflecting successful draft strategies and player development programs.
