ANALYSIS: With the Boston Celtics losing 94-102 to the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, the Knicks have officially clinched a top six seed in the Eastern Conference Standings, which ensures they will not have to participate in the play-in games.

The Knicks, who were just 21-45 last season, have had a remarkable turnaround this year and will now have an opportunity to go and make a run this postseason. Head coach Tom Thibodeau also has to be regarded as a favorite for Coach of the Year as he has brought the intensity back to Madison Square Garden. If the playoffs were to start today, the Knicks would be facing the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs, but it should be noted that seeds 4-6 are only separated by a half game, so there still could be a lot of movement in the standings during these last few games of the regular season.
