At just 23 years old, Mobley becomes the youngest recipient of the Hakeem Olajuwon Trophy since Dwight Howard in 2008 and the first player in Cavaliers history to receive this accolade.

Winning the Defensive Player of the Year award triggers a contract escalator, increasing his salary from $38.7 million to $46.4 million for the next season and adding approximately $45 million over the duration of his contract, which extends through 2030. This adjustment elevates the Cavaliers' payroll to $219 million for the 2025–26 season, surpassing the league's second apron.
