Sacramento Kings guard/forward DeMar DeRozan has become the 27th player in NBA history to surpass 25,000 career points. DeRozan reached this milestone during a game against the Chicago Bulls on March 20, 2025, at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. ​

Entering the game with 24,983 points, DeRozan needed just 17 to hit the 25,000 mark. He accomplished this feat in the third quarter with one of his signature mid-range jumpers, underscoring his reputation as a master of the mid-range game. 

Notably, DeRozan is the only active NBA player to reach 25,000 points with fewer than 1,000 career three-pointers made, highlighting his proficiency in an area often overshadowed in today's three-point-centric game. ​

Throughout his 16-season career, DeRozan has maintained an average of over 20 points per game for 12 consecutive seasons, a testament to his consistency and scoring ability. His dedication to the mid-range shot draws parallels to legends like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, emphasizing the enduring value of this skill in the NBA. ​
