DeMar DeRozan joins exclusive 26,000-point club in Kings victory

Sacramento Kings guard DeMar DeRozan officially etched his name deeper into NBA scoring lore on Sunday, becoming just the 23rd player in league history to reach 26,000 career points in a regular-season game.

DeRozan reached the milestone during the Kings’ 111-98 win over the Houston Rockets, finishing with 22 points and crossing the mark in the second quarter.

The milestone places DeRozan among an elite group of all-time scorers – a remarkable achievement underlining his consistency and longevity across a long NBA career. Since entering the league in 2009, DeRozan has been one of the game’s most prolific mid range shooters and a reliable scoring presence wherever he’s played, including stops with the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls and now the Kings.

At age 36, DeRozan’s journey to the 26K club reflects more than just volume. He’s been remarkably durable and consistent – attributes that have allowed him to rise up the all-time scoring list season after season. His performance on Sunday gave Sacramento its first victory in 2026 and underscored how even late in his career he can still impact games as a go-to scorer.

DeRozan’s achievement also sparked praise from fans and peers alike, with many pointing to his underrated scoring prowess and mid-range mastery as reasons he continues to climb the historic leaderboard. Already a member of the 25,000-point club and a six-time All-Star, DeRozan’s presence in the 26K club adds another major milestone to a Hall of Fame-worthy resume.
