Porzingis made his Celtics debut Monday night against the Clippers after being sidelined for five months. Porzingis has successfully returned after undergoing a foot surgery in the offseason, scoring 16 points with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. He helped the Celtics secure a blowout victory over the visiting LA Clippers team, 126-94. Porzingis looked healthy and was efficient scoring from the field, going 6/12 in his field goals.

Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, Phoenix Suns
Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal are targeting a return on Tuesday night in the Suns&rsquo; NBA Cup game against the Lakers, according to ESPN&rsquo;s Shams Charania.
Durant and Beal have been out of Phoenix's lineup the last 5-6 games, as they went 1-5 in that stretch. When both were in the lineup, the Suns were a league-best 8-1.
Durant and Beal aim to provide the Suns the firepower that they lacked over the past games with defenses keying in on stopping Devin Booker only.
Dejounte Murray, New Orleans Pelicans
Murray is eyeing a return after a one-month absence on Wednesday night when the Pelicans face the Raptors. Murray intends to return and help the now West-bottom New Orleans team to compete once again atop the West. Murray fractured his hand on opening night against the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA will reportedly change the 2025 All-Star Game format in an attempt to improve the overall game product, according to ESPN&rsquo;s Shams Charania.
The annual traditional game featuring the game&rsquo;s biggest stars will reportedly have a pickup-style format where teams would compose of 8 players each. The new four-team format is expected to have two semifinal games in a race to 40 points while the final would require 25 points to win.
This format is similar to how the Rising Stars game has been played over the past few years.&nbsp;
According to Charania, the first-of-its-kind event is expected to serve as a quick-burst competition that resembles pickup games where the winner moves to the championship round in single-elimination play.
The NBA All-Star game has lost its steam over the past few years due to the lack of competitiveness that the stars show on the court, leading to more points scored and just lackadaisical effort overall. The NBA, Adam Silver, and along with Warriors&rsquo; superstar Stephen Curry hope this change can give the game a fresh start and an overall different feel.&nbsp;
The NBA is planning to have 3 teams of 8 all-stars each with the 4th team being the champions of the Rising Stars games.&nbsp;

Japan&rsquo;s B.League teams Hiroshima Dragonflies and Ryukyu Golden Kings scored separate tournament-opening victories in the East Asia Super League (EASL) October 16 game day on their respective home floors in Fukuyama and Okinawa.&nbsp;
Hiroshima got their opening win via a 78-67 decision over Hong Kong Eastern at F-Pico Arena. The Dragonflies led for much of the game against Eastern, who are coming in as newcomers in this brand new EASL season.
Hiroshima got key contributions from everyone in the roster led by Kerry Blackshear Jr. who tallied 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. Nick Mayo had 14, followed by Masato Ichikawa with 11 and Ryo Yamazaki with 10. The Dragonflies shot 46 percent from the field overall and made 12 threes in the game to fuel their first win.
Hong Kong&rsquo;s American imports Cameron Clark and Christopher McLaughlin led the way for their team with 24 and 20 points respectively but it was not enough as there were no other players who scored 10 points or more other than Glen Yang.&nbsp;
Over at Okinawa, the Ryukyu Golden Kings won a tight one over the Meralco Bolts, 77-74. This was the third meeting between the two teams in the EASL after having a 1-1 split last season.&nbsp;
The Golden Kings avenged their overtime loss last season with this close win after sustaining the Bolts&rsquo; furious 4th quarter run to end the game.
Ryukyu built their largest lead at 19 points, 56-37, midway through the 3rd quarter until Meralco, led by their American import DJ Kennedy, started chipping away in the final frame.
The Bolts eventually got to as close as three in the final possession of the game before their other American import Allen Durham missed the potential game-tying three at the buzzer for the game&rsquo;s final points.
Kennedy had a huge game with 30 points and 12 boards while Durham added 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists as Meralco dropped to a 1-1 record. The Bolts recorded their opening win against the Macau Black Bears at the EASL Tip Off event in Manila last October 2.
American imports Vic Law and Jack Cooley spearheaded the Golden Kings&rsquo; attack with 18 points apiece while Yoshiyuki Matsuwaki and Yoshiya Uematsu provided ample support with 9 points each as Ryukyu recorded their first win of the season.

Napheesa Collier played the best game of her playoff career as she and the Minnesota Lynx closed out the Phoenix Mercury in Game 2, 101-88, Wednesday night in the 2024 WNBA Playoffs.&nbsp;
Collier had 42 big points with 5 rebounds and 4 assists, shooting 70 percent from the field in a historic performance. After scoring 38 in Game 1, Collier made 80 points in a two-stretch &ndash; the most in WNBA history. She also tied the most-playoff points ever, a record she shares with Breanna Stewart.
Collier had ample support from the rest of her team as four other players &ndash; the starters &ndash; scored in double digits for the Lynx as they advanced to the WNBA semifinals.
Phoenix&rsquo;s loss was a heartbreaker for the team, but most especially for Diana Taurasi, who&rsquo;s nearing the end of an illustrious career. After compiling through a resume worthy of GOAT status, Taurasi declined to answer when asked postgame if the league had seen the last of her. She netted 10 points for the Mercury while center Brittney Griner led the way for the Mercury with 24 points.
Facing the Lynx are the Connecticut Sun, who will be making their sixth straight semis trip after outclassing the Indiana Fever and super rookie Caitlin Clark.&nbsp;
The Sun won in Game 2, 87-81, courtesy of another big game from their star Alyssa Thomas. After playing all 40 minutes, Thomas poured in 19 points, 13 assists, and 5 rebounds to carry her team to the victory. Thomas also got a lot of help from across the board, including Marina Mabrey&rsquo;s 17 markers and DeWanna Bonner&rsquo;s 15 points.

The phenomenal super rookie had 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to cap off yet another strong performance for Indiana. Clark shot 47 percent from the field overall and had 3 steals.
This performance was just a cherry on top for Clark, who was awarded with both the Rookie of the Month and Eastern Conference Player of the Month before the game. Clark led the Fever to a 5-1 record to push them above .500 while averaging 24 points, 8.5 assists, and 5.2 rebounds.&nbsp;
Clark also continued to make history by becoming the first rookie in WNBA history to earn Player of the Month honors, and being the only rookie in WNBA history to record triple-double stat lines twice.

Amidst all the hype surrounding her rookie year in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark will not be a part of the USA Women&rsquo;s Basketball National Team set to compete at the Olympics in Paris.

Clark&rsquo;s omission is noticeable yet understandable, with Team USA opting for more experience, overall team composition, and the chemistry of established WNBA stars in building the team.
The hotshot rookie who has taken the WNBA by storm will have to wait and watch before getting her turn with the national team in years to come. Clark is coming off a historic <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/college-sports/">NCAA</a> career at Iowa, where she became the Division I all-time leading scorer and won two National Player of the Year awards. On Friday, she hit seven 3-pointers and matched her WNBA career-high with 30 points in a win over the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/wnba/team/mystics/">Washington Mystics</a>.
It is by no means of discrediting Clark and what she would be able to provide at the table, but more so in the tenure of these players playing for the national team. The 12 names have been training over the past few months together and it&rsquo;s only wise to keep them intact and not mess around with the dynamics surrounding the squad.

The two rookies from arguably the most anticipated WNBA rookie class of all time successfully made their WNBA debuts despite their teams losing in their first game.
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky fell short against the Dallas Wings, 87-79, after leading in the first quarter by 12. The 7th overall pick finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds on 5-14 shooting in 27 minutes of game time.
Reese&rsquo;s fellow rookie and 3rd overall selection Kamila Cardoso missed the game due to injury.
Cameron Brink and the LA Sparks also fought through the end but it was not enough, losing to the Atlanta Dream 92-81. The 2nd overall selection had 11 points on 4-6 shooting with 2 rebounds and 4 assists in 19 minutes of playing time.
Reese and Brink, along with no.1 overall pick Caitlin Clark, look to take the WNBA by storm in their rookie years as the league anticipates a massive growth following the influx of young, good, and popular basketball talents.

Angel Reese, Cameron Brink shine in WNBA debuts

The Connecticut Sun were not fazed by arguably the most anticipated WNBA debut of all time as they beat the Indiana Fever with ease, 91-72, in the WNBA&rsquo;s season opener on Tuesday night.
The Sun were about business against highly-touted rookie Caitlin Clark to rout the Fever. Veteran Alyssa Thomas put up a triple-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists as she carved up the defense of the young Fever featuring back-to-back no.1 picks in Clark and Aliyah Boston.
Clark, this year&rsquo;s top overall selection in the draft and the NCAA&rsquo;s all-time leading scorer in history, scored 20 points on 5-15 shooting from the field including 4-11 from distance. However, she committed 10 turnovers in her first taste of pro basketball.
36-year-old vet DeWanna Bonner led the Sun in scoring with 20 points while teammates DiJonai Carrington and Tyasha Harris added 16 apiece in a balanced attack for Connecticut.
Up next for Clark is a showdown between Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty in her home debut at Indiana on Thursday.
