Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be traded away from the Milwaukee Bucks in the coming weeks, which would bring an end to a saga that's been on for months. Naturally, the whole focus of the league has been on the two-time MVP, because it's not every day one's on the trade block. But amid the speculation surrounding Giannis, the spotlight on his current Milwaukee Bucks teammates has largely gone unnoticed.

The Bucks aren't just trying to Giannis out. They are planning an overhaul, and among those in Milwaukee involved in the rumor mill is forward Kyle Kuzma. The former Laker and 2020 NBA champion is likely to be moved this summer. However, there isn't a lot of clarity as to where he might end up.

Amid trade discussions, Kuzma appears to be preparing to make his own major announcement. He made a vague post on X about a revelation, although he gave the fans nothing more.

"Major announcement soon," Kuzma wrote on June 22nd.

Kuzma will enter the final year of a 4-year, $90 million deal next season. He might have requested a trade, and the Bucks front office may have even honored it. But until Giannis' future is sorted, Kuzma's could very well be put on hold.

There are multiple teams interested in Giannis, who led the Bucks to the 2021 NBA championship. He prefers to stay in the East, which has put teams like the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics on alert. However, there are also teams in the West, such as the Warriors and Trail Blazers, sniffing around for an opportunity, however unlikely a move may be. And in this saga, Kuzma could also play a role.

He averaged 13.0 ppg, with 4.5 rpg in 26 mpg in the 2025-26 season. A solid role player for a team looking to maximize its depth. That said, Kuzma's social media post may not be basketball-related at all. Kuzma might be alluding to something off the court, such as business, family, or fashion.

Whatever it is, fans will soon find out. However, it likely won't have a similar impact as when Giannis Antetokounmpo finally gets traded, wherever that may be.

What's New On the Giannis Antetokounmpo-Jaylen Brown Trade Front?

If the Milwaukee Bucks wanted Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo, a deal would have happened already. So, it's clear that the Bucks simply aren't interested in a like-for-like swap.

Earlier reports suggested that the Bucks had no interest in keeping Brown, even if they acquired him. Those rumors later shifted, with reports claiming Milwaukee was open to retaining the 2024 Finals MVP. For a team potentially heading toward a rebuild, however, Brown alone may not be enough. According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst, that remains one of the key obstacles preventing a deal from getting over the line.

"Jaylen Brown plus assets, to me, is a great trade," Windhorst said. "Well, why has Milwaukee not done it? I speculate that Milwaukee is trying to decide, 'do we want a team around Jaylen Brown, do we want a total refresh?'"

Windhorst continued by saying the Bucks might instead want to receive several future first-round picks, pick swaps, and young talent. He also added that they might want the Miami Heat's 13th pick so they can package it with their own 10th. Together, the Bucks can use those two picks to move up in the draft.

When the Bucks eventually move on from Giannis, their immediate plan will be centered around rebuilding. They appear intent on finishing that rebuild quickly, based on the assets they want back.

Draft picks and young players are at the top of their wish list. Given their apparent apprehension about keeping Jaylen Brown, it's clear they want to take their chances on a young talent who might be unproven but has the potential to become a franchise cornerstone.
