Could the greatest European basketball players of all time beat the best American legends? It is one of the most popular debates among basketball fans today. During a recent fan interaction, Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was asked this exact question, and his answer might surprise international fans.

Doncic was asked to come up with his all-time European starting five. The caveat is that his five will go up against Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, and Shaquille O'Neal.

Doncic named Sergio Llull, Drazen Petrovic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dirk Nowitzki, and Nikola Jokic as his all-time European five. However, when asked who he thought would win a game, Luka didn't hesitate to say that Team USA would win.

"Probably You (Team USA will win against Europe)," Doncic said.

Honestly, Doncic isn't to blame for picking the fans' all-time Team USA starting five. Having James and Jordan in one's lineup seems like an automatic win. Bron and Mike are two of those who many consider to be the greatest players in basketball history.

While Doncic has a three-time MVP and one-time NBA champion in Jokic, one-time NBA champions in both Nowitzki and Antetokounmpo, it's difficult to compete against a team that has a combined 19 NBA championships.

LeBron James Enjoys His Vacation in Europe

While the fans are fussing over what the 2026-27 season will look like, LeBron James is enjoying his time in Europe. The entire basketball world is waiting to see what James will do next season. The 41-year-old superstar is currently a free agent. Many are anticipating whether the King will decide to retire, remain with the Los Angeles Lakers, or play for another team.

However, while James is still mulling over what he wants to do in his career, he seems to be taking his sweet time catching up with his 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers teammates. This June marks the 10th anniversary of the Cavs' first NBA title in franchise history.

James, alongside Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, Richard Jefferson, Tristan Thompson, Channing Frye, and Matthew Dellavedova, all decided to go on a Euro vacation to celebrate their historic feat.

Given that the 2026 NBA Draft is coming on Tuesday, free agency will soon follow on June 30. Having that in mind, James should've already made a decision by then. As of this writing, the King has yet to break his silence regarding the circulating rumors. Many reports suggest that LeBron will remain in LA. But all of that remains to be seen.
