Nets' James Harden, Jeff Green to miss Game 3 against Bucks

The Brooklyn Nets' James Harden and Jeff Green remain out for Game 3 against the Milwaukee Bucks, reports Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Although head coach Steve Nash expects Green to play in this series, Harden's status moving forward is still uncertain. Sidelined with a left plantar fascia strain, Green has not played since Game 2 of the Nets' first round defeat of the Boston Celtics.

Harden is dealing with right hamstring tightness and managed a lingering strain there throughout the season. Even without Harden and Green, the Nets rolled in Game 2 by a score of 125-86. That night, Kevin Durant carried the offensive burden and scored 32 points over 33 minutes, while Kyrie Irving added 22 points of his own.

Although the Nets would love to have a perennial MVP candidate and their all-important glue guy back on the floor, health is key for Brooklyn and erring on the side of caution will always be the franchise's preferred course of action.
