Damian Lillard wins NBA Teammate of the Year Award

Portland Trail Blazers' point guard Damian Lillard has won the 2020-21 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award, the team announced this afternoon.

As the criteria notes, NBA players voted for Lillard due to his selfless play, on- and off-court leadership, and commitment to the team. Lillard averaged 28.2 points and 7.5 assists over 35.8 minutes per game this year, leading Portland to the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference.

Currently, Lillard is fighting to keep his franchise alive following a 55-point, 10-assist effort that fell just short during Tuesday's double-overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets in a crucial Game 5.
