Victor Wembanyama is known for being very serious on the basketball court. He rarely smiles at opponents and only cares about winning.

Jared McCain appears to be the opposite. He's a great competitor with a bright future. But he also has a different energy off the court. He does TikTok dances and seems to always be in a bright mood.

That personality clash between the two led to a funny story, as told by the OKC Thunder guard.

While doing a vlog, McCain unveiled a framed photograph of himself celebrating a 3-pointer while the team's fans celebrated with him. While filming a vlog to show off the gift, McCain admitted he originally wanted to ask for Wembanyama's jersey. However, an incident during Game 5 made him change his mind.

"I was going to ask for Wemby's jersey," McCain said with a smile. "But now he sent a hit out on me, I can't."

He proceeded to joke about what he'd call the video and the thumbnail he'd put on it.

While Jared McCain has seemingly already let the incident go, it was one that drew genuine criticism of Victor Wembanyama.

What Was the Incident Between Jared McCain and Victor Wembanyama

The San Antonio Spurs ultimately came out on top against the OKC Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. However, there were moments when the Thunder genuinely seemed to frustrate the Spurs.

One such incident was during Game 5 of that series, where the Thunder won to take a 3-2 series lead.

During the closing moments of the game, Wemby and the rest of the starters were subbed out. As the French star was walking to the bench, he stopped Bismack Biyombo and Mason Plumlee as they were subbing in.

He didn't keep them for too long. Just enough to allegedly tell them to commit hard fouls.

What followed was Biyombo and Plumlee clobbering McCain. The first was committed by the latter, as he ran through him with an elbow in the back.

The foul was upgraded into a flagrant 1 foul after the game had already concluded.

Wembanyama was likely frustrated because McCain was playing incredibly well against the Spurs. Before this series, McCain had never scored 20 points in a playoff game.

In Game 3, though, he exploded for 24 points off the bench. His contributions stunned San Antonio, and the Thunder won the game 123-108 to give the Thunder a 2-1 series advantage.

In Game 5, he was inserted into the starting lineup, and he rewarded that decision with another high-scoring game. He scored 20 points on a 7-for-19 shooting clip, which contributed to the Thunder's 127-114 victory.

While the Thunder lost the series after dropping Games 6 and 7, McCain emerged as another piece who will help the Thunder remain dominant for a long time.

He's already shown he can serve as an energy guy, and his demeanor off the court seems like a perfect fit for the team's culture.

Now that the Spurs are their conference rivals, though, one might wonder if he'll ever get a Victor Wembanyama jersey.
