LeBron James' Stance on Potential Warriors Move Comes to Light, Per Reports

The likelihood of LeBron James remaining with the Los Angeles Lakers is extremely high. His life is now deeply entrenched in LA, and they are among the few franchises that can offer him a contract at the price he wants.
However, the chances of him leaving and playing elsewhere can't be ruled out, no matter how slim. According to Golden State Warriors' insider Monte Poole, the chances of him joining the Warriors to play with Stephen Curry next season are not zero.
In an article for NBC Sports, Poole quoted an anonymous source who said there is genuine curiosity from both James and the Warriors regarding forming a union.
Afterward, he listed a few reasons why the four-time MVP might actually consider this move.
One of the major reasons is that a while ago, back in 2022, James admitted that he welcomed the opportunity of playing with Curry. That finally became a reality at the most recent Olympics.
Another would be the distance between Golden State and James' home base in LA, which isn't very far at all.
James joining a new franchise at this stage of his career might be a shocker. However, it makes sense when considering these things.
Curry and James have grown to respect each other since their heated Finals rivalries from the past decade. Aside from playing with the greatest shooter of all time, James will also finally be on the same team as Draymond Green.
Green was probably an even bigger rival for James than Curry was. Not because they were on the same level in terms of stardom or even talent, but because Green was not afraid of taking it to James on the court.
However, their relationship later turned into one of the most notable NBA friendships.
At this stage in his career, pursuing a championship with his friends could be a worthwhile goal for a player who has racked up plenty of accolades.
An idea that even Stephen Curry seems to be open to.
Stephen Curry Will Reportedly Meet With LeBron James This Summer
Further lending credibility to the idea that LeBron James could join the Golden State Warriors are Stephen Curry's plans.
The leader of Golden State himself reportedly has plans to meet with James this summer, per Brett Siegel. The goal of that meeting, of course, is to discuss playing together in 2026-27.
Curry knows that, in their current state, the beleaguered Warriors are not contenders. The team is a far cry from what it was a decade ago. In fact, they're not even close to what they were in 2022, when they last won a title.
Trying to broker a partnership with James is one way the Warriors could trigger a resurgence.
Financially, the Warriors don't offer much. The best they can do is a $15 million contract, which is far short of what James could earn with the Lakers.
However, what the Golden State Warriors offer is the chance to revive a franchise desperately trying to ignite the dying embers of a faded dynasty.
