Blazers' CJ McCollum suffers fracture in foot, out at least 4 weeks

The Portland Trail Blazers announced that guard CJ McCollum will be out at least four weeks after further examination on his left foot revealed a fracture. The injury, which McCollum suffered in Saturday's win over the Atlanta Hawks, was originally diagnosed as a left foot sprain and not thought to be serious. Further imaging revealed that McCollum suffered a small hairline fracture to the lateral cuneiform in his left foot and a mid-foot sprain. McCollum will wear a walking boot and be re-evaluated in four weeks, per the team.

This is a major blow to the Blazers, who just lost big man Jusuf Nurkic (broken wrist) for at least eight weeks. Damian Lillard will shoulder more of the load now as Portland tries to stay afloat in the always competitive Western Conference.
