Cavs Make Stance Clear on Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade, Per Reports

As we approach the conclusion of the 2026 NBA Playoffs, that means we are also approaching the beginning of free agency and the eligibility of trading players again. One of the biggest names heading into the trade market this year is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Previously, Antetokounmpo was considered to be an untouchable asset. He expressed his loyalty to the Bucks after signing a three-year deal worth $175.3 million last offseason. However, given the disappointing result this season with Milwaukee finishing in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, it appears both parties are now ready to move on from each other.
It's been reported that the Bucks are now open to offers for the Greek Freak. With a big draw like Giannis, many teams are likely to bid for him. One of those teams is reportedly the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs are currently solid contenders in the East, especially now that they're doing battle against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. Having that in mind, Cleveland wouldn't mind bringing in more stars to help them achieve their championship aspirations.
However, according to The Athletic's Joe Vardon, the Cavs aren't willing to trade Evan Mobley for Antetokounmpo, at least for now.
"The Cleveland Cavaliers have no interest in trading Evan Mobley for Giannis Antetokounmpo as of now," per Vardon.
Cleveland is currently in a tricky situation heading into the offseason. There have been rumors that LeBron James might decide to go back home and run it back for the final time in Ohio. With that in mind, the Cavs will have a major decision to make regarding which direction they want to go in terms of securing another star.
Heat Have Highest Odds Landing Trade Deal For Giannis Antetokounmpo
As mentioned earlier, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are ready to part ways. The Bucks are reportedly in rebuild mode, while Antetokounmpo is looking for a team that could help him notch another championship in his career.
Earlier reports suggest that the Greek Freak wants to play for the New York Knicks. However, many analysts believe that the Miami Heat could be the perfect landing spot for Giannis.
The Heat already has an established culture and knows what it's like to win a championship. This is the type of team that Antetokounmpo is looking for.
Also, it's worth noting that recent betting odds show that the Heat have the highest chance of securing Giannis during this offseason. Miami has a 34% chance, according to the odds.
However, that's easier said than done. The Heat will need to figure out which among their three star players, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Andrew Wiggins, they would want to part ways with. Miami will also need to determine a good package to pair with one of its star players.
For now, everything remains to be seen. Based on what has transpired so far between the Bucks and Giannis, it's likely that the star forward could find a new home this summer.
