NBA, NBPA push CBA deadline to Nov. 6

The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) announced today that they have agreed to push back to November 6 the date by which either party may notify the other of an intention to terminate the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.  The deadline had previously been today.  If either party provides notice by November 6, the CBA will terminate by December 14, unless the parties agree otherwise.

ANALYSIS: As anticipated, the NBA and the players union did not come to an agreement today on the CBA for next season, with the new deadline set to be November 6th. This does not bode well for the leagues chances to try and start the season on Dec. 22. The NBA and NBPA have plenty of work to get done between now and the next deadline, so expect this to be a highly covered topic in the coming week.
