NBA G League intends to play season, ponders potential Bubble

The NBA's G League is determined to push forward with its season despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, league sources have told ESPN. In the face of health and financial concerns, a primary motivation is to not let the league-run Ignite team fall on its face in the program's inaugural campaign.

ANALYSIS: With the Ignite team set to make its debut this year the NBA is under more pressure to continue its G League season. The Ignite team features some of the top prospects in the country as many of them have forgone attending school or playing overseas to play on Ignite. The Ignite team serves as another option for high school prospects who are looking to earn a salary right away. Players can be paid up to $500,000 in their first year out of high school and the Ignite team has already brought in number one high school prospects Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga.

The G League has reportedly been looking at Atlanta as a potential spot to host their season and it is worth noting the season will not feature all 29 teams as some teams have already opted out.
