NBA announces two new positive COVID tests since Feb. 17

The NBA released the following statement on their COVID-19 update:

"Of the 455 players tested for COVID-19 since Feb. 17, 2 new players have returned confirmed positive tests.

Anyone who has returned a confirmed positive test, or has been identified as having been in close contact to an infected person, is isolated or quarantined until they are cleared under the rules established by the NBA and the Players Association in accordance with CDC guidance."

The NBA seems to have a much better grip on the current COVID-19 situation compared to a couple months ago. With fans starting to return to arenas and the vaccine becomingly more widely available, the NBA will hope to continue this trend as the season progresses into the game-packed second half of the year. With already so many games to makeup, the NBA cannot afford to postpone much more games if they still intend on completing the 72 game season in full.
