Kyrie Irving to be cleared for Nets home games starting Thursday

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving will be cleared for home games as New York City will on Thursday change private sector vaccine mandate to allow exemption for athletes and entertainers in workplace, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

ANALYSIS: This is the break that the Brooklyn Nets have been waiting for all season. There will probably be strong backlash to the clearance with Kyrie's vaccination status, but this decision was made by New York City mayor Eric Adams in regards to other sports teams in the area as well. Irving will most certainly make this final stretch of Nets basketball must-watch, as Brooklyn tries to sneak out of the Play-In Tournament.

Irving has averaged 27.7 points, 5.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds over the 19 games he's played this season for the Nets.
