Pacers could move Brogdon in offseason, giving keys to Haliburton

During BasketballNews.com's NBA Trade Deadline Preview on Twitter Spaces, HoopsHype's Mike Scotto said that executives around the NBA believe that the Indiana Pacers may look to move Malcolm Brogdon in the offseason, which would clear the way for Tyrese Haliburton to run the show in Indiana.

With the Pacers rebuilding for the future, it would make sense for them to deal the 29-year-old Brogdon in exchange for of some young players and/or draft picks.

Brogdon has dealt with injuries throughout this season, but has played well when he has suited up. In 28 games this season, he's averaging 18.5 points, 5.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 threes and 0.9 steals on .448/.30.7/.861 shooting splits.

Haliburton is poised to be Indiana's franchise cornerstone, so they'll want to give him the keys to the franchise sooner than later. If Brogdon does become available, plenty of teams are expected to show interest.

Because Brogdon signed a two-year, $45-million extension in late October, he isn't eligible to be traded for six months. That means the earliest that the Pacers could deal the veteran point guard is this offseason.
