Donovan Mitchell (ankle) plans to be ready for Game 1 of first round

Donovan Mitchell practiced with the Jazz for the first time since spraining his ankle in mid-April. Asked if he expects to play Game 1, he said, “That’s the goal.”

ANALYSIS: The Jazz were still able to secure the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference despite not having their number one option in Mitchell for the last month. The Jazz are currently waiting to see who their opponent will be in the first round, as the Grizzlies and Warriors will battle it out in a win or go home play-in game Friday night.

Here is what Mitchell said after attending his first practice since the injury via Utah's team website

“Practice was good. I got out there and competed. You could tell it was my first time in four or five weeks, but that’s to be expected. Just trying to find ways to get back in a groove, get back in full shape. I feel like I’m getting there. Things are progressing well.”
