“He’s Like a Fu*king iPhone”: Gilbert Arenas Reveals His First Impression of LeBron James

Many of the people who had great expectations for LeBron James were certainly proven right. One of his popular nicknames was 'Chosen One,' given to him by 'Sports Illustrated' in 2002 when they featured him on the cover.

He was dubbed that even before he made it to the NBA. As he became more popular, people had different first impressions of him. For the most part, they were pretty similar, though. There was, however, one person who had a slightly different first thought, and that person is Gilbert Arenas.

The former Washington Wizards all-star guard got a chance to talk about his first impression of James on 'Game Over.' While speaking with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul, Arenas shared that he knew James was special when he first encountered him.

"I remember when I first watched him at your guys house," Arenas said to Paul. "He was watching different games. I study people, so I'm watching him, he's just watching [games]."

"And I'm like 'yo,he studies everything,'" Arenas continued. "So he's consuming all information. Young people don't do that. He's like a f***ing iPhone here. He's just consuming. So, he knows a soccer player in high school. He knows this person out of this country. I was like, 'what is this?'"

Beyond his physical prowess, James' basketball IQ has always been a strong part of his game. He has often received praise for his high understanding of basketball.

When his playing days are over, some believe he'll even make a great head coach.

While LeBron James got to play with several All-NBA players, he might have had the opportunity to play with another, Gilbert Arenas

Rich Paul Reveals He Encouraged Gilbert Arenas to Play With LeBron James

LeBron James got the opportunity to share the court with plenty of elite guards. He got to team up with Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat. Then, he and Kyrie Irving joined forces on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James also got to play with guards like Isaiah Thomas, Deron Williams, and Derrick Rose, although it was in the latter stages of their careers. He could also have played with Gilbert Arenas had Arenas listened to Rich Paul's advice.

The revelation happened while Paul, Arenas, and Max Kellerman were talking about Arenas' career. Paul was talking about how Arenas could dictate how the game was played for himself on the court.

Then, Paul shifted the conversation to why Arenas never made the Finals in his career. According to the former NBA all-star, it was because his team lost key pieces necessary to achieve such a run.

According to Paul, part of the reason was that he was playing in the same conference as James. Afterward, Paul dropped the bombshell revelation.

"I tried to get you to play with LeBron, you didn't listen," Paul said while he threw both his hands up in disbelief. Meanwhile, Kellerman acknowledged that they would have made great teammates.

If James and Arenas got the opportunity to play together, NBA history might have been different. Assuming Arenas never dealt with the injuries he had, he and James could have dominated the Eastern Conference.

If they were together on the Cleveland Cavaliers, James might have never left to join the Miami Heat. Together, they might have attracted another star to help them take down the Boston Celtics big three.

If all these had happened, James might have gotten his first title earlier. He would also never have gotten the villain status associated with him when he first left the Cavs.
