Giannis Antetokounmpo Says He Doesn’t Feel Comfortable in Miami As He Sets the Record Straight on His Loyalty for Milwaukee

Earlier this July, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks parted ways after 13 seasons. The Bucks traded Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. According to reports, Giannis had grown frustrated with Milwaukee, particularly with the front office's failure to build a team capable of helping him win another title.

Despite his frustrations, it appears that Antetokounmpo remains loyal to the Bucks. When asked about his recent trade to the Heat, the Greek Freak shared how he felt adapting to his new work environment. While he's looking forward to the next chapter of his career, Giannis admitted that Miami doesn't feel like home just yet.

"I'm happy to be in Miami," Antetokounmpo said. "In Miami now, I won't lie, I don't feel comfortable. I don't know the team, but I'm going over there, and I will do my best. I've been doing this my whole life, and I hope it turns out well."

Antetokounmpo then declared that Milwaukee will still be home to him. Even if he's representing another team now, he will forever consider himself a Buck.

"I love the city of Milwaukee," Antetokounmpo added. "I will love Milwaukee until I die. I bleed purple and green. It's very simple. They made me who I am today."

Heat fans are now looking forward to what the duo of Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo would look like. There have also been rumors that LeBron James could return to South Beach, potentially forming a big three with Giannis and Bam.

If that were to happen, the Heat might become solid contenders in the Eastern Conference again.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Leaves Door Open For Possible Milwaukee Return

Giannis Antetokounmpo hasn't even begun his first season with the Miami Heat yet, and he's already saying he's open to going back to the Milwaukee Bucks. While this could raise some eyebrows, it's understandable how Antetokounmpo feels, especially after playing 13 years with the team.

Giannis was a teenager when the Bucks drafted him in 2013. In a sense, he grew up in Milwaukee. Plus, it's been the closest thing to home since leaving Greece to become an NBA star.

"I really believed that I would stay in Milwaukee for my entire career," Antetokounmpo said in an interview on the Anestea Podcast. "But then I saw I was in my comfort zone. I wanted something different. And I am happy to be in Miami. I can’t lie, I don’t feel comfortable in Miami. I’ll go there and do my best."

"I bleed purple and green," Antetokounmpo added. "Basketball-wise, I had a great time there. That will always be in my heart. That will never leave. I don’t know, but I hope when the Miami chapter closes, and I don’t know when or if it will, and I don’t know how many years I’ll spend there, but I wish to return to Milwaukee if they’ll have me."
