"Even Your Daddy": Anthony Takes Open Jab at Jalen Brunson And His Father in Latest Adidas Stunt

Over his six-year NBA career, Anthony Edwards has built a reputation for not caring about what others think of him. Edwards is known as a vocal player, saying whatever he wants, whether directly or indirectly. This personality of his is what makes him one of the funniest and most annoying players in the league today.

In Edwards' recent Adidas commercial for his new signature shoe, the Anthony Edwards 3, he took a jab at the newly crowned NBA champion and NBA Finals MVP, Jalen Brunson.

"Look at this shoe, the Anthony Edwards 3. We ain't playing fair this year," Edwards said. "If you're on the court against me, anybody could get it. Even your daddy. I don't care if he's your assistant coach."

It makes sense to assume that Ant was referring to Jalen, given how his father, Rick Brunson, serves as the New York Knicks' assistant coach.

The purpose of Ant's commercial was not only to advertise his shoe but also to make a statement that he's ready for any challenges that come his way this coming season. He even went so far as to challenge a mystery player, staring into the camera and declaring war.

"When I lace these up, it's over for all y'all, especially you know who," Edwards said, then stared directly at the camera.

It was never confirmed who Edwards challenged. There has been a plethora of speculation online about Victor Wembanyama.

This is due to the San Antonio Spurs knocking the Minnesota Timberwolves out of the second round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs. For now, everything remains to be seen.

Anthony Edwards Roasts LeBron James in Adidas Commercial

While it's bad enough that Anthony Edwards hilariously made fun of Jalen Brunson in his Adidas commercial, it appears that nobody was safe from his roasting. Edwards also took the opportunity to call out LeBron James in the ad.

Earlier this summer, James was heavily rumored to join the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, the King ultimately decided to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. While we aren't sure whether Ant was affected by his decision, he made sure to let LeBron know his thoughts.

"You see where big dog (LeBron James) ended up? He was going to join me in Minnesota, but I guess his knees couldn't handle the cold weather," Edwards jokingly said. "It's cool, though. We know why he really made that decision. Philly got some of the best barbers in the world."

Despite missing out on the opportunity to play with the King, Edwards can still look forward to his new running mate, LaMelo Ball. Many are intrigued by how the duo of Ball and Edwards could help elevate the Wolves this coming 2026-27 season.
