"His Knees Couldn't Handle": Anthony Edwards Mocks LeBron James in Viral Video

Anthony Edwards recently dropped a new Adidas commercial for his upcoming signature shoe, the Anthony Edwards 3. The ad featured a stand-up comedy segment in which Ant made several jokes to a live audience. Given the nature of stand-up comedy shows, roasts are bound to take place.

True enough, Edwards roasted LeBron James in the commercial without naming him directly. Ant noted that James nearly joined the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this summer but ultimately signed with the Philadelphia 76ers. Edwards then made fun of James' decision by dropping cold-weather and barber jokes.

"You see where big dog (LeBron James) ended up? He was going to join me in Minnesota, but I guess his knees couldn't handle the cold weather," Edwards jokingly said. "It's cool, though. We know why he really made that decision. Philly got some of the best barbers in the world."

No one was safe from Edwards' verbal bombs. Ant then made a subtle jab at James' new teammate, Jaylen Brown.

"Between (LeBron James) and ol' boy from Boston (Jaylen Brown), they're going to have a whole lot of enhancements going on in the locker room," Edwards added. "I'm just playing y'all. No pun intended."

Anthony Edwards has never been one to hold back. Throughout his six years in the NBA, Ant has built a reputation for his personality and comedic antics, whether he’s interacting with fans in the stands or getting under the skin of his opponents.

So, seeing that same energy come through in his latest Adidas commercial shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Anthony Edwards 3 Launches in Adidas Stores

The new Anthony Edwards 3 dropped on Thursday in Adidas stores and other select retail shops like Foot Locker. So far, Adidas has launched the shoe with only one colorway, the "Cold Blooded" design. It represents the colors of Edwards' NBA team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Anthony Edwards 3s come in three variations: Adult, Grade School, and Preschool. Adult sizes cost $130. Grade School sizes cost $100. Meanwhile, Preschool sizes cost $90.

According to sources, four other colorways are set to release throughout 2026. These include "Snow Camo", "Solar Silver", "With Love", and "Aurora". The "With Love" colorway has already been confirmed to launch in November.

In Edwards' Adidas commercial, not only did he advertise his new signature shoe, but he also called out a mystery player and declared that he's coming for him.

"The cage is open, and the dog is unleashed," Edwards said in the ad. "Look at this shoe, the Anthony Edwards 3. We ain't playing fair this year. If you're on the court against me, anybody could get... When I lace these up, it's over for y'all, especially you know who."

After Ant made that statement, he took a quick pause to stare directly into the camera. While it was never confirmed who he was referring to, there have been logical debates saying that it could be about Victor Wembanyama.

During the 2026 NBA Playoffs, Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs took out Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round. It was one of the most heated series of the playoffs, given the amount of trash-talking that took place.
