Paige Bueckers' stellar March Madness run propels UConn to another Final Four

UConn Huskies standout guard Paige Bueckers has delivered an extraordinary series of performances during the 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, leading the Huskies to their 24th Final Four appearance overall.

Bueckers showcased her offensive prowess with three consecutive high-scoring games. First in the round of 32 vs South Dakota State, Bueckers put up 34 points on an efficient 14-21 shooting night. In the Sweet 16 vs Oklahoma, Bueckers achieved a career-high 40 points, setting a UConn women's NCAA Tournament single-game record. In the Elite Eight vs USC, Bueckers contributed 31 points, propelling UConn to a 78-64 victory and securing their spot in the Final Four.

Beyond her tournament success, Bueckers climbed up the record books as she surpassed Napheesa Collier to become third on UConn's all-time scoring list, underscoring her significant impact on the program. Bueckers also has 105 total points in three consecutive games, marking the most points ever by a UConn Husky ever.

Following the tournament, Bueckers announced her intention to enter the 2025 WNBA Draft, where she is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings. Should Bueckers be drafted and eventually join the Wings, she would have the opportunity to play alongside WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale, potentially forming a formidable backcourt duo.

Bueckers is on a historic tear and is seeking her first national title. She’s had 3 Final Four appearances, including playing in a title game in her sophomore year. As Bueckers prepares to transition to the professional level, her remarkable collegiate achievements have solidified her legacy in UConn's storied basketball history.
