Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns & Other NBA Stars React After Eagles Blow Win Against Jaguars

Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns have made their Eagles fandom public plenty of times before. Back in January 2025, the two spent an NFC Championship blowout roasting teammate Josh Hart in real time for rooting against Philadelphia, and Towns later doubled down by wearing an Eagles sweater to a Knicks-76ers game, changing at halftime only after being warned it probably wasn't the best look.
That history made Sunday's result especially painful, and this time there was no roasting anyone else. The Eagles did this one to themselves.
Philadelphia traveled to London and appeared to have escaped with a win, taking a 17-16 lead on a 48-yard Jake Elliott field goal with just eight seconds remaining. Jacksonville’s special teams, however, had other plans.
On the ensuing kickoff, Ameer Abdullah executed a massive 53-yard return to the Eagles' 39-yard line, leaving just 1 second on the clock. Without the offense needing to run a single play, kicker Cam Little delivered a 57-yard field goal as time expired, sending the Jaguars to a stunning 19-17 victory.
Trevor Lawrence finished 24 of 39 for 331 yards and two touchdowns, while Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense managed 232 total net yards and stalled repeatedly in Jacksonville territory.
Instead of an Eagles goal-line failure, it was actually the Jaguars offense that was turned away completely on a fourth-and-goal stand from the 1-yard line by Zack Baun right before halftime.
The collapse didn't go unnoticed around the league. Brunson, who co-signs Towns on Eagles fandom, posted simply, "Bro ain't no way," capturing the disbelief of watching a last-second lead evaporate in the game's final seconds.
Towns, never one to hide his reaction, posted an angry emoji directly at the Eagles' account. Caitlin Clark added her own take on the finish, writing, "What an insane win for the Jags," framing the result from the other side as the shocking part it was.
Why This Loss Stings Differently for Philadelphia’s Biggest NBA Fans
The reactions carry extra weight given how invested Brunson and Towns have been in Eagles football dating back through a Super Bowl run and multiple playoff pushes. Their fandom has become a running storyline in New York, enough that it shaped a real in-arena decision about what Towns could wear to a Knicks game.
A walk-off loss to a Jaguars team that trailed for most of the afternoon isn't the kind of outcome that fits the script those two have been celebrating for years.
It also arrives at an awkward moment for both players personally. Towns and the New York Knicks are working through his own extension standoff with James Dolan, a very different kind of late-game uncertainty than the one Philadelphia just lived through in London.
For a fan base that's used to good results from this corner of the NBA, Sunday's finish in London gave Brunson, Towns, and plenty of others around the league a result nobody saw coming, right up until Cam Little's kick split the uprights.
