The Christmas start date is the earliest proposed timeline for next season so far, with other speculation including a MLK Day start. Along with a reduced schedule, the league will continue to discuss play-in and tournament scenarios. October 30 is the deadline for negotations between the NBA and NBPA regarding the 2020-21 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
