Some NBA teams are preparing for a free agency period that could begin as soon as November 20 or November 21 -- 48 to 72 hours after the Nov. 18 NBA Draft -- if the plan to start the 2020-21 season [on] December 22 goes ahead. Further clarity is expected by week's end.

ANALYSIS: This would put free agency on a timetable of just two days removed from the NBA Draft on November 18. There have also been reports indicating that NBA training camps could start on December 1 (if the season does indeed start on December 22). That means a ton of free-agency signings (and possibly some trades) would be crammed into an action-packed 10 days.
