Earlier this summer, LeBron James took his talents to the City of Brotherly Love after signing a two-year, $8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. Despite the 76ers being one of James' choices, no one assumed the King would end up in Philly. LeBron is now set to debut with his new superteam consisting of Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey.

Given the nature of superteams, one of the biggest concerns will be their chemistry. During an interview with Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Maxey had the opportunity to open up about his new teammate, James.

"He's like a big brother, like an OG to me," Maxey told Azarly. "A kid asked me the other day, 'Are you and LeBron friends?' I thought about it. I leaned back, and I said, 'You know, I guess we are friends. He's the old, old, old guy, but he's like one of my old friends.'"

"It's funny because we're teammates now, co-workers, but it's kind of like a big brother situation," Maxey continued. "It's going to be very cool and an interesting dynamic."

So far, it doesn't seem like chemistry will be an issue between James and Maxey. When LeBron officially signed with the 76ers in July, a clip of Maxey went viral on social media when he got all hyped up learning about the King's arrival during his workout session.

Meanwhile, Embiid already had the opportunity to play alongside James during the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing Team USA.

As for Brown, while there is speculation that the two stars aren't particularly close, they reportedly have mutual respect and have already engaged in a few workout sessions together before training camp.

LeBron James Reveals Secret to Avoiding Major Injuries

LeBron James is the oldest active NBA player heading into the 2026-27 season. Despite that fact, he's also still one of the strongest and healthiest players.

While many fans are aware of how James spends millions to take care of his body, he recently shared tips for avoiding other major injuries, such as a torn Achilles or ACL, during the season.

James recently participated in an open basketball run at Crespi Carmelite High School in Los Angeles. Players typically conserve their energy and pour it all out during training camp and the preseason to get ready for the regular season. However, LeBron revealed why it's important to indulge in pick-up basketball games.

"I was going up and down, just getting those small muscles firing," James said in an interview reposted by Legion Hoops on X. "As the preseason comes along and the training camp, getting those small muscles firing, that s**t is going to help."

"Right now, what's big in our league is soft tissue injuries," James continued. "Calves, Achilles, all that small s**t... Hamstring, you gotta try to avoid that s**t. The only way to do that is kind of get up and down and running and get some contact."

While James has been dealing with more injuries lately compared to his younger years, it's mainly because age is catching up to him. So far, LeBron doesn't tend to be sidelined for as long as other younger guys in the league.
