A new ESPN report states that the NBA
and National Basketball Players Association are holding a
preliminary meeting in Boston on Wednesday on the collective
bargaining agreement. Both sides can opt our of the current deal in
December and they are preparing for serious talks on a new CBA in
the next few months.

ANALYSIS: The
current CBA officially expires after the 2023-24 season, but both
sides have an opt-out they can exercise in December. Another note
is that the NBA's national television deals are set to expire after
the 2024-25 season and the league is expecting a huge increase in
rights fees.
