Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul reached 10,000 career assists during Sunday's matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 16-year veteran accomplished the feat in the second half of the game, throwing a lob to big man Deandre Ayton.

CP3 becomes just the sixth player in NBA history to cross the 10,000 career assists mark. The five others are John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Mark Jackson and Magic Johnson (an elite list, to say the least).

In his first year with Phoenix, Paul has the Suns second in the Western Conference standings with a 27-13 record, just 2.5 games behind the first-place Utah Jazz. Paul is averaging 16.0 points, 8.7 assists, and 4.6 rebounds in 31.8 minutes per game.
