Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle nets 1000th career coaching win
Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle has won his 1000th NBA game, officially joining an elite company with some of the best coaches in league history, as the Pacers beat the Hornets 114-112.
Carlisle is only the 11th coach ever in NBA history to breach 1000 wins, cementing his milestone as one of the most accomplished tacticians in the NBA.
He joins an exclusive club of legendary head coaches including Gregg Popovich, Don Nelson, Phil Jackson, Lenny Wilkens, and Pat Riley who have made their mark in coaching in the NBA.
Carlisle, who led the Dallas Mavericks to a title in 2011, joined Doc Rivers who achieved the feat in 2021 as the only active head coaches with 1000 wins or more.
The milestone spans 23 seasons across three franchises, and Carlisle’s longevity and adaptability through multiple eras of the NBA have defined his legacy.
