NBA postpones tonight’s Spurs-Pelicans game

The NBA released the following statement regarding tonight's matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans:

"The National Basketball Association game scheduled for tonight between the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Center has been postponed in accordance with the league's Health and Safety Protocols.

Because of ongoing contact tracing within both the Spurs and Pelicans, neither team has the league-required eight available players to proceed with the scheduled game."

This marks the second postponement for the Pelicans and the first of the season for San Antonio. Adrian Wojnarowski and Andrew Lopez added that the league postponed the game because of a potential coronavirus exposure to a non-team member of the traveling parties of both teams in recent days and the NBA is taking extra precautions with situations like these.
