Ex-Bucks Center Makes Bold Statement on Giannis Antetokounmpo Following Milwaukee Exit

Giannis Antetokounmpo has heard just about every version of the same critique from rival big men over the years. Ex-Bucks center Miroslav Raduljica, who briefly shared the locker room with Antetokounmpo during his rookie seasons, has taken a swing at the two-time MVP's game, and he didn't hold back.

Speaking on the Ozbiljno Neozbiljni podcast, Raduljica made his stance clear.

"I don't think Giannis is some extraordinary basketball talent, but he has a talent for hard work, which is actually even more important," he said, as he credited Antetokounmpo's work ethic over his natural gifts.

He didn't stop there. "I can't watch that, man. That's not basketball to me," Raduljica continued, dismissing the way Antetokounmpo dominates games. "You just charge at the basket, bulk yourself up like a beast, have incredible physical attributes, and jump over people, but you can't make a three-pointer."

Raduljica played parts of two NBA seasons with Milwaukee before Antetokounmpo blossomed into a superstar. It gave him a courtside view of the early "Greek Freak" who has since become one of the most physically dominant forces the league has seen.

Raduljica is far from the first opposing big man to zero in on Antetokounmpo's perimeter limitations. Jusuf Nurkic took a similar shot ahead of a EuroBasket matchup against Greece, where he argued that packing the paint and living with Antetokounmpo's jumper was the simplest way to contain him, pointing to his struggles in those exact spots during past tournaments.

The stats back up why this remains a go-to talking point. Antetokounmpo's three-point volume has reduced in recent seasons, and his career accuracy from deep has hovered in the low 30s at best, with far worse stretches seen.

Even Giannis Antetokounmpo has acknowledged the gap himself. He said that his focus stays on attacking downhill and creating for others rather than settling for triples, even as he insists he's capable of knocking them down when needed.

Whether it's a former teammate on a podcast or a rival preparing for a tournament game, the message from opponents has stayed consistent. However, Antetokounmpo's résumé - MVPs, a championship, and a spot among the league's most unstoppable scorers - suggests that plan hasn't worked nearly as often as his critics would like.
