NBA commissioner Adam Silver nearing contract extension

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is nearing a contract extension with the NBA, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

ANALYSIS: According to the report, the extension is expected to take him through the end of the decade right around the 2029-2030 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 61-year-old Silver, who’s nearing his 10th year as the NBA’s commish since replacing David Stern, would now shift his focus to securing a new media and TV rights deal as well as the imminent league expansion.
