NBA announces finalists for 2024-2025 NBA Awards

The NBA has officially announced the finalists for its 2024-25 season awards, spotlighting standout performances across the league. 

Leading the Most Valuable Player (MVP) race are Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets), and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks). Gilgeous-Alexander, who averaged a league-high 32.7 points per game, guided the Thunder to an NBA-best 68–14 record. Jokić delivered a stellar season with averages of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game, while Antetokounmpo contributed 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game.

Defensive Player of the Year Finalists:

  • Dyson Daniels (Atlanta Hawks)​
  • Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors)​
  • Evan Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers)​

Notably, Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs was ineligible due to playing only 46 games this season.

  • Dyson Daniels (Atlanta Hawks)

Rookie of the Year Finalists:

  • Stephon Castle (San Antonio Spurs)​

  • Jaylen Wells (Memphis Grizzlies)​

Sixth Man of the Year Finalists:

  • Malik Beasley (Detroit Pistons)
  • Ty Jerome (Cleveland Cavaliers)​
  • Payton Pritchard (Boston Celtics)​

Clutch Player of the Year Finalists:

  • Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks)​
  • Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves)​
  • Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets)​

Coach of the Year Finalists:

  • Kenny Atkinson (Cleveland Cavaliers)
  • Ime Udoka (Houston Rockets)​
  • J.B. Bickerstaff (Detroit Pistons)​

The winners will be announced during the NBA Playoffs, with dates to be determined.​
